5 Essential Techniques to Keep Your Facebook Account Bulletproof from Hackers
5 Must-Know Techniques to Make Your Facebook Account Bulletproof from Hackers Social media is no longer just a platform for sharing personal updates. For thousands of creators, brands, and online store owners, Facebook and other platforms are the main engine for their entire business operations. If you lose access to a business page or personal profile, you could lose years of audience building and ad assets overnight. Our CEO and founder Nasim Rana Masud outlined easy but essential steps to protect your account from modern cyber threats in a tech column titled “āϝ⧇ ā§Ģ āĻŸā§‡āĻ•āύāĻŋāϕ⧇ āĻ•āĻ–āύāχ āĻĢ⧇āϏāĻŦ⧁āĻ• āĻ…ā§āϝāĻžāĻ•āĻžāωāĻ¨ā§āϟ āĻšā§āϝāĻžāĻ• āĻšāĻŦ⧇ āύāĻžâ€ (5 Techniques to Ensure Your Facebook Account Never Gets Hacked) in the national daily Daily Jugantor. Techflix is a leading IT company in Bangladesh that works hand-in-hand with growing businesses to safeguard their online footprint. Here are the five security habits the column stresses that all users and business owners should start practicing today. 1. Stay Away from Phishing Links & Clickbait Prompts As you scroll through your feed, you’ll often see enticing links—promotions for free rewards, quizzes about what you’ll look like in 30 years, or fake login screens. These pages are generally there to do three things: Create fake traffic to shady websites. Collect basic contact information like email addresses and phone numbers. Steal sensitive data such as direct login credentials and session tokens. If an offer seems too good to be true or asks you to provide your credentials on a random external page, skip it. 2. Disregard Spam Texts and Automated Direct Messages Phishing doesn’t stay on the public newsfeed; it finds its way into your inbox too. Automated greetings during major holidays often have suspicious shortened links attached. If you click or forward these messages, your account security is compromised. Treat unknown links in your inbox with the same caution you would an unknown email attachment, particularly if they are telling you that your business page is about to be restricted. 3. Develop a Strong Password Strategy The easiest way to give up control of your account is to use simple passwords like sequential numbers, personal names, or phone numbers. Automated tools can crack simple patterns in seconds. To create a password that really lasts: Make it 10 to 13 characters long. Mix uppercase and lowercase letters. Use numbers out of order and special characters like #, $, @, %, or *. Do not use the same password on multiple platforms or business tools. 4. Always Use Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Two-factor authentication is your best security gatekeeper. If your password is discovered or stolen, anyone attempting to log in still needs to complete the second step of verification to gain access. You can set this up in two main ways in the Settings & Privacy section of Facebook: SMS verification: Codes are sent directly to your mobile phone number. Authenticator apps: Apps like Google Authenticator that generate temporary security codes that expire after 30 seconds. 5. Turn on Alerts for Unrecognized Logins Another key setting in Facebook’s security menu is the Login Alert feature. As soon as it is activated, any login from an unknown browser, IP address, or new device sends an instant alert directly to your mobile phone and email. In the unlikely case of an unauthorized login, this notification gives you a short window to kill active sessions and change your password before any real damage is done.
